winters gone
Last day before winter is officially over for 2010. Today’s conditions summed up what most of this season has been like. Sunny, light winds and just a medium sized swell, enough to get you out there, but nothing memorable. We did’nt really get that classic big winter swell, but we did’nt have too many days that you couldn’t get out there for a surf. I think we will have to stamp it as average and look ahead to spring….. hopefully there are some surprise swells around the corner.... see all this morning watershots HERE

alive
Great start to the day............
and it just got better.
Today is great day to be alive! Sun is blazing, waves are clean and the water temp is as good as it gets. Got up and went shooting with Mat, Chris and Joe who were tearing up the clean walls at one of our picture perfect northern beach breaks.Couldn't just stand on the beach to do my daily photos today, it looked too good not to get wet, so loaded up the housing and got some exercise.

orange
The swell is still a bit messy on our part of the coast. Despite all-night offshore winds, the surface conditions are bumpy and lumpy. Waves are around shoulder to head high on the bigger sets, but were lacking quality at the 3 beaches I checked this morning.
While the waves were a bit of a yawn, the sunrise was stunning! Beautiful orange, glowing start to the day. Just a small clear opening on the horizon concerntrated the colour under the heavy overcast skies.
Rider of todays post : Matty Wyborn
LOW TIDE: 5.04pm - .036
WATER TEMP: 24
SWELL: shoulder to head high on the sets
WAVE PERIOD: 12-13 seconds
WIND: light westerly early, turning light to moderate easterly

coffs boardriders opener
The Coffs boardriders held their first meet of the year today at good ole Diggers beach. The swell arrived just in time after a week of near flatness. This pic is of Matty Wyborn going to town on a nice righthander in his first heat. Our website will have the full gallery up over the next few days. I'll keep you posted through this blog or join up to the weekly newsletter of our surf website to get it all first.
