south east bumps

Nice south-east swell pulsing for the last 3 days. Protected corners have been clean, and open beaches have been bumpy but surfable. Just a nice little glimmer of light on the horizon today, with a couple of lads playing with some junky bumps.
"Fingers of God" beamed through the clouds for about 30 minutes this morn.

good times

The ST Images bus headed south last weekend with the Valla surfboard team. Sage Joske, Brett Caller and Jack Lynch all stashed their weird and wonderful quivers into the back of two vans and off we went down the pacific highway.
Our destination was to be a long pebbly lined point break, as we rounded the bend into the car park a 5 wave set peeled flawlessly for 150 meters, the boys were amped!
The easterly swell from yesterday was still with us and the wind was non-existent.

Brett was straight out there on his finless Alaia, while Sage and Jack opted for their four fin fishes.

Much board swapping and changeovers went on throughout the morning sessions. Sage’s new Vector was a popular choice in the shoulder high waves and when the tide filled in the longer heavier logs were dragged out for some critical sliding along the summery walls.

boardriders

Andrew Lindsay making something of crappy conditions. I think he won the over 28's.

The Coffs boardriders had their monthly bash on Sunday at Diggers beach. There were OK waves in the morning but the north-easterly came up and made a mess by the time the finals started.
I only took a few stills this time round. I opted to get some video footage instead. I plan to get some filming done each comp and put together a little video for the final presentation night.

The new "Super Groms" division has been a massive hit!

on show at the theatre

through these doors to our little show

The Jetty Memorial Theatre in Coffs Harbour has asked us to exhibit a collection of our work in the display room.
The beautiful Lauren, who looks after the day to day running of the theatre saw some of our work in the cafĂ© “Water” on the jetty strip and called us to see if we were keen.

We were stoked! So for the last week we have been putting together a collection of images and ended up naming the exhibit “Shorelines”.

Everyone is welcome to come and see the exhibition between 10am-4pm Monday to Friday for the next four weeks…. It’s Free!
All work is for sale by contacting us direct.
Dates on show : 22nd Feb to 22nd March. Mon-Fri 10am-4pm

high tide trimming

This one shot around 10am today. It's tucked inside a southern corner out of the wind. The swell is a bit bigger than this at the mo, but not much. Maybe shoulder high at the open beaches. Decent swell due to hit sometime today.

fine day

self portrait shot this morning. This setting needed some human interest and I was the only human around at five past six today.
waves were fun again early, a little smaller but still big enough, water temp is lush, looks like a good beach day..... get out there!

messed up

East swells still up, but its still messy and unorganised at most beaches. This spot had a few, but it was really inconsistent. Should start seeing cleaner waves on Wednesday.

novelty wave

John Craig
Well me and Johnny checked everywhere from Mullaway to Coffs and found nothing this morning. Swell has increased a fair amount but the beaches are so stirred up and breaking miles out to sea. On top of that it blew northerly all night which takes out a heap of options. Ended up finding a little rock wedge with a cool backdrop for todays post

go surfin

Waves are pumping today on the coffs coast. Solid east swell hittin all of our beaches with some long over due power. Today pic was taken around 7am it's of a smaller inside wave, there are some bigger bomb sets out there today. Just got a call in from a mate who was frothing over a session of some of the best barrels he's had in years... and I've seen this guy get some crazy barrels over the last few years, so somewhere is around here is off its head, I'm not gonna tell ya where but.

maybe tomorrow

Madison Williams last Sunday morning.
Well I went to the beach for my daily photo this morning, but it wasn't pretty. Cloudy, windy, choppy, messy, sloppy....... bloody terrible really. You would have to be super keen today. Later in the week looks better.

blazing sunrise

amazing colours for the first 10 minutes of today, the surf on the other hand, looked a little messed up, we had light winds but it hadn't really settled. No problems on the size however, overhead waves with some power where crashing into the beach breaks. Plenty of swell for the rest of the week too.
