short lived
Harley on Saturday.... see full sequence here
If you got your surfing done before lunch on Saturday you would still have a smile on ya face as you trudged off to work or school today. The well groomed south east swell only lasted for a few hours before a nasty north east wind took the swell from overhead to waist high by Sunday morning. Like Sunday there are still some tiny clean waves at certain swell magnets this morning, but most of our beaches..... Click here to read and see todays post

north east winter swell
Harley noseriding trim
Nice clean lines are sweeping in from the north east this morning, but that approaching high tide was turning possible kegs into fat dregs at some spots. That north east swell really cleaned up yesterday arvo and certain back beaches started to fire on the dropping tide.....CLICK HERE to read more and see more of today's pics

diversity
Another cracking morning in Coffs again. The swell is maybe a touch smaller, but it’s still clean and it’s still barrelling. Great week to be a surfer!!. Today’s post and updated gallery is full of people having fun on everything from “stand up paddle” boards to alaia’s to bodyboards to modern quad fish boards and high performance thrusters. I love the diversity of whats been ridden over the last 3 years, each of these crafts were finding different parts of th.... click here to read more and see more pics

southerly buster
Flat yesterday ; Overhead waves today. All thanks to a southerly buster that blew up last night. Places open to the south swell have some well overhead set-waves, while protected corners were knee high. This new swell is very so.....CLICK HERE to read more and see the pics

This 19 shot sequence of Harley was shot this morning. I didn't give him much chance of getting through this one, but he made.....yeah no worries. He said he didn't even get touched by it. Check the 5th shot in, looks like he's pulling into a lefthand tube.... freak!

Waves are smaller today, the beach I was shooting and surfing wasn't really doing it. Plenty of people already on holidays taking advantage of this beautiful weather.

the harley party
Gareth Budge was quaffing red and cuttin sic on the decks all night long
The Hoey Moey was on fire last night with the Harley world title party. The best crew of people all joining in for a night that Harley will no doubt remember forever. You could see how much this title meant to the champ and how thankful he was to his mates and his family. Big shout out to Lee Winkler and Andrew Lindsay who organised the party and the Hoey for putting on the show. Great speeches from Wink and Madison Williams who later tore it up on the dance floor... man that dude can dance!
well done harls lets do it all again next year!

our local world champ!
Emerald beach shredder Harley Ingleby, made the final of the maldives pro to become the 2009 Longboard WORLD CHAMP! to say that he is stoked would be a massive understatement. In my, possibly biased opion he is hands down the best longboarder going around and many would certainly agree that his style is the best to watch, so he is a very deserving winner of this year's title.
Mate enjoy your win and all that comes with it! see you when you get home
Mate enjoy your win and all that comes with it! see you when you get home
with a backhand attack like this, its little wonder harley did so well at the long lefthander in the maldives.
Another colourful start to the day. this pic taken just after 6 this morning.
Surf was around waist height.... very lazy at most beaches with the morning full tide.

glimpse
If you got up early enough this morning you would have seen the sun (for about 5 minutes) before the dull grey skies once again took over the sky. The surf was not great but looked a whole lot better than the last two days.
nice looking start to the day.
The Maldives Longboard pro had a lay day yesterday, so Harley and Jared are yet to meet. Check the link below later this arvo to see if their heat gets under way. They are in heat 5, so I'm thinking about 3.30pm they should be going at it.

rather be in the maldives
kept my camera dry this morning. The howlling winds and rain were smashing our coastline this morning, so today's photo takes us to a warm tropical place. This shot was taken on a trip I did to the Maldives in 2007. The surfer is Jared Neal who is currently competing there at the final Longboard world tour event.
Coffs locals, Jared Neal and Harley Ingleby made it through their first round heats yesterday, but unfortunatly have to meet each other in round two. You can watch the live webcast at the link below. Conditions were near perfect yesterday, so its worth tuning into. Action will start later this arvo and go into the evening (our time)
