summer
Cracking day outside at the moment. Warm sunshine, light breeze and lush water temps, don’t need too much rubber on today (if any), I went out in a steamer early this morning and nearly died of heat exhaustion! got love the summer time.. there is even a few waves about the place. Fun size north east swell pushing into most beaches with an early offshore wind. That wind has gone more north-east.... click here to read and see more

little critters
Today’s main pic has the tell tale signs of a full tilt easterly… these little critters were strewn all over our shorelines this morning, after a night of 35km/hr straight onshore winds. Any surfer will know there is....click here to read and see the rest of today's post

Junky two-footers anyone?… sloppy conditions first up this morning despite the light overnight offshore winds. The wind-swell out wide must be mixed up with a short wave interval, cause all we are getting is weak broken-up peaks. There was some nice light rays coming through a low cloud a bit after 6am… this was probably the highlight of the morning, but looking out the window now, we have another overcast day with a south east onshore wind. There’s talk of an east swell coming mid week… hang in there... click here to see the whole post

mad dash
About 10 past 5 this morning I opened the back door to check out the wind sock, as I do every morning, but my attention was set beyond the fluttering flag to a sky which had sunset potential written all over it. The race was on, with a deep pink and red horizon already starting to do its thing, this little photographer was getting excited. Sunrises only last few minutes, so within 30 seconds lenses, filters and camera bags are flying all over the place as I try to get my favourite landscape capturing kit assembled. Running down my local beach with T-Shirt inside out, bed hair flapping in the wind and two camera bags hoisted over each shoulder I must have looked like I was late for an early morning flight… luckily no one was around watching my uncoordinated mad dash for sunrise glory....CLICK HERE to see all the pics from today

coffs boardriders
The northerly pattern continues today. Its been the same for the last week. Light winds early make for cleanish, fun waves on the backbeaches followed by howling north-east winds in the afternoons, which are blowing up just enough north-east swell for the next day. There were plenty of waves for the weekend warriors and some okay waves for the Coffs boardriders meet that was held yesterday. Today’s photos show some of the action from the last Coffs boardriders comp of the year.... click here to see more pics

go beach
Baking sunshine, light northerlies, the water feels amazing…. today is a killer day to be on the Coffs coast. Go surf, swim, snorkel, fish or just walk along the beach, nothing will beat it! The north east swell is possibly a little bigger today, hunt out the northern corners and you will find some joy right along the coast. Early low tides are...click here to read more and see all the pics from today.

springtime sleds
No point complaining about the lack of surf.. the bad winds… la la la.. just get out there and get what your given. Take this sorta attitude to the spring time waves and you come in smiling every time. Having a good grovelling board helps too and I reckon Johnny Craig has found himself a spring/summer board to conquer all. He was of course shredding on this wide little 5′9… I had a go myself and it went unreal…. there’s no bad waves just bad choices of boards... click here to see the full post.

north winds
I hope you like northerlies, cause we are going to be getting em for the next 7 days. That devil spring time wind is all over the short to long term forecasts. Luckily the coffs coast is blessed with plenty of large northern headlands…click here to see the full days post

east swell
pumping east swell out there today…. loving the month of November so far. The early full tide didn’t match up too well with some of our new sandbanks, but when its four foot and clean it’s worth the paddle. A dropping tide and the winds turning to the south later today could bring some new spots back into play. If you can get a wind.....click here to read on and see all the pics
