Solid amount of rain falling on the Coffs coast this morning, not great picture taking weather for this little photographer, however we did get a few hours of sunlight late yesterday arvo and the pictures in todays post are mostly from that session. wet

Wet n wild this morning on the Coffs coast, a howling southerly wind and grey skies aint making the surfing option really inviting at the moment. Last night however was a totally different story,  conditions were prime!! from lunch time onwards there was a perfect offshore wind blowing against this new south-east groundswell, it was one of those special late autumn evenings. We got down the beach for the last 4...click here to see more pics

Well it didn’t stay small for long. This morning we were greeted with a new groundswell. It seems to be building through the morning and coupled with these offshore winds it could be a really good surf day. I spent a while sear..... CLIK HERE to see more pics from today

monday clouds

Not much energy in the waves today, just shoulder high swell flopping on to some high tide banks at first light, the beach I photographed this morning didn’t inspire any surf action shooting. But if you know of.... CLICK HERE to see more and get the links to some new stuff on our website

silhouettes

For about 20 minutes this morning I had a killer golden backdrop to work with. The sunrise just had enough room between the horizon cloud cover and the heavy overcast sky above. Lucky for me Alex Swadling was out there and doing most of his surfing above the lip, so I managed to get so..... click here to see more aerial shots from today

That solid swell kept on pulsing this morning. South facing beaches were getting hammered by a 3 meter swell, while beaches that are even a little bit protected from the south were quite small. Theme for toda...CLICK HERE to see some more shots from the morning session

I could hear the ocean rumbling as I woke up this morning, and I knew it was going to be on! the big surf from yesterday morning really faded out during the day and last night it was only half the size. But Huey was up bright and early this mo....CLICK HERE to see more barrels from today

large

The ocean has some energy today!! A strong south-east swell has stepped up a notch overnight and is starting to light up the coffs coast. Double overhead sets were pounding on to the high tide banks early this morning, the swell still looked a little unorganised, but I’m tipping that will clean up over the next day or so and we coul...... diversity

Another cracking morning in Coffs again. The swell is maybe a touch smaller, but it’s still clean and it’s still barrelling. Great week to be a surfer!!. Today’s post and updated gallery is full of people having fun on everything from “stand up paddle” boards to alaia’s to bodyboards to modern quad fish boards and high performance thrusters. I love the diversity of whats been ridden over the last 3 years, each of these crafts were finding different parts of th.... click here to read more and see more pics

I had to pull on a jumper this morning! a cool south west wind sprung up over night and gave us a little warning that winter is just around the corner. homemade wave

THIS IS RAD!!!!
Working in conjunction with the Indian government, ASR Ltd completed construction of India’s first Multi-Purpose Reef in February, 2010. The primary purpose of the reef is to mitigate coastal erosion from monsoon waves in the small town of Kovalam. The reef also creates an excellent habitat for marine species. Finally, as this video shows, the reef has helped create a great surf spot. CLICK HERE to watch the clip
